The non-executive directors are: Saidu Samaila - Chairman Saidu Samaila is an accountant, banker and international businessman. He holds a first degree in accountancy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Wales, Bangor, UK. He has worked as assistant manager, savannah bank of Nigeria, manager, Commercial Trust Bank and area manager, Lagos, Gamji Bank. He is at the deputy managing director and chief operations officer at Inland bank plc, Abuja, Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and was licensed in 1990. Samaila is also a director of many companies including Sigma Engineering, Abuja, Nigeria and Embassy Chauffeurs, London. Bill Kirkman Bill Kirkman is a graduate of Oxford University, who has worked for over 30 years in the University of Cambridge. He is a Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge, and was the founder director of the Wolfson College Press Fellowship Programme, which has had many African journalists as participants. He ran the Programme from 1982 until 1996. In the 1960s he was Africa Correspondent of The Times and covered much of the period of rapid de-colonisation. He also broadcast frequently for the BBC African Service. He is the author of Unscrambling an Empire, published in 1966. Currently Bill Kirkman is editor of Cambridge, the magazine of the Cambridge Society, and is a regular columnist for The Hindu, published in Chennai, India. Mfon Amana Mfon Amana, 52, is an engineer and businessman. He is the chairman/managing director of Management Information Systems, a computer marketing and information technology service provider. Dr Amana graduated with a first class honours degree in mechanical engineering from the Imperial College, London in 1971. He also holds a master's degrees in science, engineering and business administration and a doctor of science degree, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, Cambridge, US. He was registered as a professional engineer by the US state of Maryland in 1980. Before setting up MIS, Dr Amana was the project leader of the Heavy Fuels Research Programme undertaken by General Electric Company of the US. John Ayuba John Ayuba, a banker, obtained a first class degree in business administration, an MBA and a Ph.D from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. He lectured at his alma mata for seven years before joining UTC, one of Nigeria's leading conglomerates as product manager, later area manager. In July 1989, he joined Icon Merchant Bank and rose to the position of senior manager. He is the general manager, corporate services at Inland Bank plc, Lagos, Nigeria. John is also a fellow of the 21st Century Trust, London and member of many professional bodies. |
